The Rhodopes are a massive mountain range on the territory of Bulgaria and parts of Greece. Besides its vast landscapes of river gorges, meadows, dams, and lakes the Rhodopes also comprise a distinct cultural area, making it one of Bulgaria’s most valuable travel destinations. This trip will take you through some of the most notable natural and cultural sites of the area on a bike, guaranteeing you an exciting outdoor adventure as well as a rich cultural experience that lets you feel the spirit of Bulgaria.

  • The Rhodope Mountains – а vast mountain range particularly notable for its karst areas with deep river gorges, large caves, and specific sculptured forms. Beside its scenic landscapes, the Rhodopes also offer various cultural sites and are inhabited by the Bulgarian Muslim population famous for its hospitality.

  • Vacha Dam – one of the most scenic reservoirs in the Rhodopes

  • Chudnite Mostove (The Wonderful Bridges) – spectacular natural rock formations consisting of three arches, as the largest one is 148 feet high and 131 feet wide

  • Asen's Fortress – a medieval fortress dating to the period of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, designed to protect the area against Latin raids and the Bachkovo Monastery

  • Bachkovo Monastery – the second largest Bulgarian monastery

  • Visiting towns of Sofia, Plovdiv, Devin, Pravets

  • In Sofia, we will visit the National Museum, indoor market Halite, Sofia's Mosque and Synagogue, and the Women’s Open Market. We will also walk the famous and social hub known as Vitosha Boulevard.

  • Boyana Church – a medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church, situated in Vitosha Mountain, near the capital city of Sofia

  • Vitosha Mountain

  • Plovdiv's Old Town – a beautiful architectural and historical reserve

  • Kuklen Monastery

  • Zdravets resort area located at a 2855 ft. altitude

  • Villages of Byala Cherkva, Sitovo, Lyaskovo, Mihalkovo, Chucurovo, Orehovo, Galabovo

  • Picturesque meadows on the northern slopes of the Rhodopes, overlooking surrounding mountain peaks (this is near the village of Byala Cherkva)

  • Orehovo – a magical mountain village located at a height of 3117 ft. above sea level

  • Spa town of Devin – famous for its hot mineral springs which you can bathe in

  • Persenk Trail

  • A scenic meadow above the village of Kosovo famous for its authentic architecture

  • Pravets Golf Resort – here we will have a day of outdoor relaxation laying down by the pool or taking a swing at the golf course
